Amazing Things Can happen Watch This Space

'THE SHOP' as yet without a name

I met Chris Hartley in his Shop, or rather beside a skip outside the shell of what will be his shop
opposite 'Todmorden Outdoor Market'
He told me
“This is a more life statement than a business, at home we have put ½ acre over to organic veg and will be doing the same with more, and we have rescued chickens, and my wife is really into making this a way of life for us”.

I think they have not so much changed the way they think about food more realised the way things should be.

Chris Said “When we went shopping we found it hard to find good quality locally grown organic veg in Todmorden, So being a Tod lad I thought lets do it properly”

This is going to be a great thing for Tod as so much of our food has travelled miles to get here, and already past its best has left a massive carbon footprint.

Now to tell you about the shop and what a place this is going to be,
A produce shop, a coffee shop, and a real community shop A place where folk can buy real English, organic and as soon as can be sourced, all locally grown veg

Until enough can be sourced they will buy in what they can’t get locally, but it will all be English and organic.

One section of the shop will sell produce from IET initiatives like the schools organic gardening projects, community growers groups whatever. Their surplus can be sold in the shop, and the money will go back to the groups to use as they need.

Now that is what I call community!
The shop building itself will be much improved, the upper part of the shop front will be restored with new WOODEN windows fitted, and the shopfront at pavement level is being completely redone, to very high specifications.

Next the amazing coffee shop

Watch this pace to see how this just gets better and better, the fittings that are going in here are just stunning.

But I am saving that for next time.
