Locusts
Here in weaverville, north carolina, we have billions of locusts and they are making this "rrrrr" noise that could be heard for miles! They say that the there are more locusts here in our liitle weaveville than all the people in the world! They might be a little bit annoying cause they are always flying around your head and everywhere you look, there is a locust. There are a lot of dead locusts on the floor because of our heat in weaverville: average temperature for right now is 85 to 95 degrees fahrenheit! Are there any locusts in todmorden? Thanks
Re: Locusts
No thankfully we don't have locust in Todmorden. The UK is too cold for them I think.
I have never seen one in the UK outside of a zoo or university.

Tod is blooming great
Re: Locusts
Here in Cambridgeshire, about 100 miles South of Tod, it's a reasonably warm evening of 14 C (about 59F). We have grasshoppers, the same family but smaller. You can hear them sometimes but rarely see one. Locusts we use at work, for experiments. They are sometimes killed humanly and dissected. A long way from me however, because I am hugely allergic to them.
Re: Locusts
Thanks for the info, it is very hot here in North Carolina, nows temperature is about 88 to 95 degrees!
Re: Locusts
That would, quite frankly, kill me. I loath heat. Warm, yes, but heat.............................................................arrrggghh!

Re: Locusts
Actually, there ARE locusts in Tod, in the Pet Shop and at the Garden Centre! They are sold as food for some reptiles...about £2.20 for a tub (depends how big the locusts are as to how many you get in a tub)
