mice in Portsmouth?
Does anyone know if the Burnley end of Portsmouth is known for its mouse population???
I went into the cupboard under our sink to get out the sunflower seeds to top up my bird feeder and found a *huge* pile of completely empty husks next to the bag. At first I thought the bag had leaked but I'd put a bag clip on it, *something* had chewed a hole in the bag, there are even teeny teeth marks around the hole.
I'm thinking it might be worth getting a humane trap and seeing what turns up, I have heard something in the kitchen late at night when I've been up so who knows?
Does anywhere in Tod. sell humane traps does anyone know?

Re: mice in Portsmouth?
Is it Lawsons or Dawsons? Meh, either way he did indeed have some 'trip traps' so I've baited one with some yummy sunflower seeds. Assuming the washing machine doesn't trip it we shall see what happens :D
Incase anyone else wants some, they're £4.50

Ah now but Re: mice in Portsmouth?
I used to live in Lancaster where 'Lawsons' was a toy shop
Yep, I found him :)
Yep, I found him :)
Caught one!
I was sitting in the living room at 9.30ish and heard the trap trip. I went to check (the trap recommends checking every 2 hours so the poor things don't keel over) I found a tripped trap missing its bait of brownie and on closer inspection, a teeny tiny mouse at the back of the cupboard.
So I juggled the treats right to the back of the trap and reset it. For the past hour I've heard it playing with the trap, finally heard it go and then keep rattling. Yes, I caught a mouse. It's now in my very deep, empty tool box with a little dish of water and another of sunflower seeds and some shredded kitchen roll until I can take it somewhere to release in the morning.
It's so tiny and has such huge black eyes. So sweet. I just hope it isn't a mum as I have the feeling it got in through the door so the nest would be in the house.
I've also reset the trap incase it's not alone.
