The creators of the community herb garden cleared of the straw that protected it over the winter. Cleared last seasons dead wood and leaves to give all the plants the best start for this season.

we've also got a lot of seedlings on the go, to plant up any gaps rom last year... more painted sage, that was very popular last year and looked fantastic, as did the artichokes... that was the reason for the straw, to protect the artichokes from the frost..it work for most of them, we lost a few but have plenty more...today we palnated swiss chard, red curly kale, and black kale, some more lovage, some thyme, and some different sages....picked some rhubarb and some purple sprouting broccoli, and also planted some bergamot and some echinacea...lovely for height (80-90 cm) we also planted some more angelica, the angelica from last year is flowering already, but not as tall as I would have liked, but all should give a spectacular show this summer..
