growing potatoes without a garden

Post  Admin on April 15th 2008, 8:39 pm

Did you know that spuds will grow in an old barrel or a dustbin ( as long as you can make drainage holes in it) so you can have fresh new potatoes without a garden. You will need to plant them just high enough so that the sun can reach the leaves, you can then earth them up as they grow, just as you would in open ground. It is important to keep them watered, but dont allow them to become too wet or they will rot. but you will get loads of lovely spuds.

if you have no tubs .. go round to the refuse place (or go up to sharney ford) and borrow some tyres .. use 2 stacked on top of each other then as the potatoes grow jus add annother on top when you come to dig them up just lift the tyres and hey presto loads of tatoes ... and then take the tyres back to the refuse place (not sharney ford even if you got them from there)
